(1.5 hrs) Orienteering is a great educational tool with a double benefit (physical and mental challenge). Properly organized orienteering activities develop navigational and map reading skills, provide problem solving challenges and enhance physical fitness and self esteem. This program introduces the basics of orienteering, emphasizing map reading skills (scale, distance, direction, elevation, and land formations) and concludes with students participating in a timed orienteering event.
